Well, it seems as if fall is definitely upon us with colder nights and less and less hot days. However we all know that in Canada the weather can be somewhat dramatic at times and surprise us all. Our last tour was held on Sept. 13-15, 2013 in Huntsville, Ontario hosted by Gord, Anne and John Morton. It was very successful with 23 cars on tour. Folks began arriving on Friday evening and the weather was somewhat less than warm. Out came the sweaters, scarves and mitts and much heavier jackets.
Well we have been on the road again to another very nice tour. On August 9-11, 2013, the Schneider family hosted the MTFCI Ontario Region, HCCA Southern Ontario and HASC Heritage 35 Clubs in Owen Sound, Ontario. What a great time! Friday evening was the time to meet and greet and then go on a short tour for ICE CREAM. What a fabulous way to begin a tour. Sure looked like everyone enjoyed the treats.
Saturday morning was very chilly but we don't discourage easily. That's not smoke coming from Bernadette, by the way. It was a beautiful sunny day and a great day for a tour - just dress warmly. Sunday was a little less cold. It was cloudy but no rain - at least not until after we got back to the campground. It was a very nice tour put on for us by the Mortons.
Yes, it's not too early to think about having fun (in a Model T) in 2014. The Potters are planning a 3 day event touring Prince Edward County. We need to plan this far in advance to secure hotel and campground reservations in a popular area during the heart of summer. Our hosts are holding spots for us, but we are limited to 32 hotel rooms and 30 campsites. Don't be disappointed and miss out. The tour will cover about 50 miles per day allowing for relaxing sightseeing, reserved luncheons, and socializing.
The web photographer has been falling down on the job this year. This is the first tour that I attended with my camera. Unfortunately it quit on me before I got very many pictures. Too bad, since this was a joint tour with HCCA and HASC - Heritage 35, so there were some different faces and cars out than we'd normally see on a 'T' club tour. We visited the Sauble Beach and parked on the beach with the Classic Car Show. Check out the aerial shot in the gallery.
The June tour was most capably hosted by the Mottashed family in the Bowmanville area on June 21-23rd, 2013 at the Cedar Park Resort. The owners of this facility arranged for us to stay in a back corner of the campground where we could be by ourselves to enjoy the area but they were most accommodating for any and all concerns. Campers began arriving late morning and continued to dribble in throughout the rest of the day. It was so nice to see everyone and especially those we had not seen in a very long time.
