The Fall Travelling Tour being hosted by the Stapleys on October 17-19 is just over 3 weeks away! It's not too late to register. There were still rooms available yesterday - when I finally booked mine. Registration forms went out by email in August but a copy can be downloaded from the event page here if you need one. It will be a fun tour. Hope to see you there!
We had another great tour hosted by the Bakers. It's a really nice area to tour with lots of quality back roads to travel and many choices for the requisite daily ice cream stop. There was a surprise visit by Richard and Gwen Day, MTFCI members from Australia. They were in the midst of a long vacation, including several weeks in North America. By coincidence they were in Niagara Falls close to the time of our tour and were able to attend Friday evening and Saturday. It was a great opportunity to chat about our common interests.
The Potters arranged a wonderful tour for our club as well as for Horseless Carriage members. We had a great time touring around Prince Edward County, near Picton. Lots of nice roads, places to visit, and some sit-down lunches with the group. The pictures were taken by Gary McBride and myself. His are probably the best ones.
Your webmaster has been napping and the registration deadline is imminent, as in tomorrow. The registration details were circulated recently by email. They're also available for download on our event page. It'll be another great tour in Western N.Y. Hope to see you there!
Linda and John (and helpers) put on a fantastic tour for us and the weather was superb. Lots of fresh sunburn to go around! More camera problems for me though. When the memory card in my camera failed I had to get what I could with my smartphone. Picture quality is even more questionable than usual. Anyway, you'll get the idea of what we were up to and the characters involved.
What a great tour! Thanks to our hosts, the Chapman family, for putting on such a great CanAm weekend. My camera was less spectacular though, as the battery died midday before I was able to get at least one picture of everyone. I guess I'll finally have to replace it. As usual, if you have any photos of the event you'd like to contribute just contact me (see the Contact Us page for an email link) and I'll arrange for you to submit them electronically.
The registration form is now available on this website. The community centre in Fergus is a great camping spot for a tour and the annual HASC Central Region flea market will be on the same site. The Heritage 35 group within HASC is also invited to tour with us. It's a nice touring area around Fergus. Please visit our event page for the registration. See you there!
Our tour calendar has filled out of late with September and October tours being added. Bakers will be hosting a tour on Labour Day weekend in Western NY at thriving Albion, NY. Stapleys have announced a travelling tour for October 18-19, the weekend after Hershey, starting from Campbellford. Watch the website for more details as we get closer.
If you haven't already done so, get your registration in for the Prince Edward County tour hosted by the Potters. Space is limited and filling up.
