Hershey Fall Meet and Ontario Sept tour cancelled

Just more cancellations to tell you about. Hershey Region AACA has cancelled the October Fall Meet. They're still trying to figure out if the Saturday car show can go on, but no swap meet. Our September tour hosts have also cancelled. There's no way to arrange camping, motels, and tour stops for a large group even if some of those things are allowed and available in September.

So that's it for our planned 2020 tours. All cancelled. Even the tentative October tour has fallen through. I think the Doors Open event it was going to be arranged around has already been cancelled. Again, think small and local for Ontario touring this year - once things are open and it's safe. Madness!

MTFCI July tour and Ontario August tour both cancelled

No news except for more cancellations. MTFCI cancelled the July International tour and announced the hosts will do 2021 instead. Our August hosts have also cancelled. There's no way to achieve enough physical distancing in their yard, so it's a no-go on that alone. Stay tuned. Maybe as things open up we'll find some opportunities. Stay safe!

More COVID-19 Cancellations

The CanAm tour in May that was to be held in St. Thomas has been cancelled. The June tour that was to be held in Fergus at the HASC flea market has also been cancelled. MTFCI intends to announce a decision after May 15 regarding the July tour in Ohio. Keep an eye on this website for updates. Stay safe! Let's hope we're out touring before too awful long.

AGM cancelled and other Covid-19 considerations

The AGM, which was planned for April 18 in Hamilton, has been postponed indefinitely. We’ll look for an opportunity to hold an AGM at a later date, perhaps in conjunction with a tour. At this point no one knows when it’ll become appropriate to even conduct tours. Clearly there’s risk we might have to cancel or change the CanAm, but it’s too early to make that decision. Watch your inbox and/or the website as we watch & wait on how the Covid-19 situation unfolds.

Get those cars ready so you’ll be ready to go on a moment’s notice!

Save These 2020 Dates!

We have lots of news about this year's events. The AGM now has a date and a new location. It will be at the Barton Stone-Mount Hope United Church in Hamilton on April 18th. When the other details have been set a registration form will be circulated and further details posted here.

The June tour also has a date and a new location. We were in need of a June tour (see below) and HASC invited us to join their annual event in Fergus on June 12-14. Wade & Jill agreed to run the tour, possibly in conjunction with some HASC touring there as well. Yes, we were in Fergus last June but it is a great place to tour - with the flea market, affordable camping, nice area roads, plus a food tent on site. It works so well that many people have suggested we go here every June. Surely two years in a row won't be a problem. I'm up for it! The registration form will be circulated once it's all set.

We now have an August tour to report. Claytons' will be hosting in August rather than June. The dates are August 14-16. Exact location and other details will follow with the registration form. In the meantime, think Niagara Falls and you won't be far off. It's a lovely area and always lots of fun.

Mark your calendars! I hope to see you out at all these great opportunities.

2020 Tours - CanAm news plus we need an August host

The flyer for the 2020 CanAm has been added to our website. Please refer to that on our event page for details. Further details, including the registration form, will be sent out to all members closer to the tour date. It's not too early to book your room at the Comfort Inn though! Arrangements for dry camping at the Gun Club can be made closer to the tour date. The two locations are only 6 km apart. It'll be a fun tour as I know the Slees have picked some nice roads and stops for us!

Our next order of business: we need a tour host for August 2020. If you can help, or know someone who can, please contact our tour committee at tours@ontariomodelt.org.

2019 Tour News - Care to Host?

The 2019 tours and a few other noteworthy events have now been added to our site. It's always tough to find a host for an October tour, but we really need a host for August! Please consider volunteering if you can help with August, and it's not too early to volunteer for 2020 either. Check out our 2019 tours, listed in the right column on this page and on our events page, so you can start making plans to participate.
